Prof. Dr. Gülser Köksal, one of the most important figures in the field of quality management in Turkey, was born in 1963. She graduated from Ankara Experimental High School in 1980. She received her Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 1985 and her Master's degree in 1987. After receiving her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1992, she joined the faculty of the Industrial Engineering Department at Middle East Technical University. Prof. Dr. Köksal served as Rector's Advisor at Middle East Technical University between 2016-2017 and as Vice Rector between 2017-2019. She also served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of METU Development Foundation Information Technologies Inc. in 2019. She has mentored numerous graduate students and contributed to projects in areas such as quality management, product and process design, and strategic planning. After retiring from Middle East Technical University in 2023, she served as Rector's Advisor at TED University.
