Prof. Dr. Naci Bölükbaşı was born in Konya in 1945. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Middle East Technical University (METU) Department of Mining Engineering in 1968 and began working as a research assistant in the same department that same year. He received his Master's degree from the same department in 1971, and after completing his doctoral studies at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in England between 1971 and 1974, he returned to Turkey and was appointed as an assistant professor in the same department. He received the title of Associate Professor in December 1974, was appointed to the Associate Professor position in July 1985, and received the title of Professor in September 1992. Dr. Bölükbaşı was appointed Head of the Mining Engineering Department in October 1985 and held this position until October 1990. Dr. Bölükbaşı conducted research in the fields of Mine Mechanization and Mine Ventilation. Bölükbaşı has published numerous works on these subjects and supervised his students' master's and doctoral studies. Prof. Dr. Naci Bölükbaşı retired in August 2012 due to age limit.
