A tree planting ceremony was held for the establishment of the 100th Year Atatürk Forest to be held at the Middle East Technical University. Speaking at the ceremony, METU Vice President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kıcıman noted that erosion prevention efforts at METU had begun in 1960 and that currently 23 million trees have been grown on an area of 45 thousand acres, and that around 450 thousand trees will be planted this year.
